Welcome to Buist Academy For Advanced Studies
Buist Academy for Advanced Studies is an academic magnet school established in 1985. The school provides a rigorous curriculum emphasizing language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, and foreign languages.
Thanksgiving Food Drive
Buist Academy students are hosting a Thanksgiving Food Drive in order to collect food for the homeless children and families in our district. The drive runs from October 20th until November 14th. Donated food can be placed in the collection bins located on the first floor. Please put the food in a bag labeled with your child's teachers name on it. The PYP and the MYP class that donates the most food will receive a prize at the end of the drive.
October is Bullying Prevention Month
Charleston County School District defines bullying as a deliberate, repeated act with intention to hurt, insult or threaten another person in school, on school grounds, in school vehicles, or at school events. Bullying consists of an imbalance of power.
Buist Academy works hard to ensure that our students feel safe and secure at school. During the month of October and all through the year, we encourage our students to stand-up against bullying. On October 22nd, students are asked to wear orange to school for National Unity Day.
Make it ORANGE and make it end! Unite against bullying!
