What's going on in music?

In kindergarten through second grade, the students are working on the basic elements of music and music reading through the Orff-Schulwerk method and using Quaver Music online. Third grade and fourth grade students build on these skills playing the soprano recorder and Orff instruments. Fifth and sixth graders are delving more into the elements of music, music history and cultures around the world through alto recorder, bucket drumming, Orff instruments and ukulele. Seventh and eighth grade classes are performing ensembles. Seventh and eighth grade are learning to play steel pan drums, ‚Äčan instrument from the island of Trinidad and Tobago. The eighth graders are also learning to play the ukulele.

Lots of exciting things happening in music class! Check back for updates on upcoming performances and curriculum!
