Buist Academy for Advanced Studies is proud to be an authorized Primary Years Programme IB World School since February 2007.  Buist is also proud to be a certified Middle Years Programme.

Buist is Excellent

Only 270 of 1,284 schools in South Carolina earned an Excellent rating.

Buist elementary and middle schools both rated as Excellent.

Buist Middle School scored 78 points and Buist Elementary scored 77 points.

Mission and Vision

Buist Academy for Advanced Studies aims to challenge students in a rigorous environment which emphasizes achievement, encourages academic excellence, and promotes respect for individual differences. Together with Charleston County School District, the International Baccalaureate Organization, and community partners, Buist Academy equips students with the knowledge, skills, and attributes necessary to take action in their local and global community.

Mrs. DeSa sets the bar high in the classroom while making learning come alive through engaging, hands-on opportunities for students every single day. Beyond academics, she builds strong, meaningful partnerships with parents and is a constant source of encouragement and positivity for her colleagues.
