I graduated from the College of Charleston with a BA in Spanish and Secondary Education. I proudly lead the International Baccalaureate Primary Years (PYP) and Middle Years (MYP) programs at Buist Academy for Advanced Studies. In January of the 2010-2011 school year, I moved from leading a class to leading a school in the position of International Baccalaureate (IB) coordinator. In a few short months, I successfully led the Middle Years Programme (MYP) through a critical authorization. The success completed the program continuum from Kindergarten through 8th grade and confirmed the identity of Buist Academy- an IB World School.
Experience as both a PYP and MYP Language B teacher leads me to believe in the significant results produced by the IB program. I see firsthand how language gives learners the power to connect to the expanding world and become valuable, global citizens. This motivates me to actively serve the program.
