Cell Phone Policy

The Charleston County School District (CCSD) Board of Trustees approved Policy JICJ, "Prohibition of Personal Electronic Devices During the School Day," in November 2024. 

Beginning January 6, 2025, students from kindergarten through 12th grade must turn off and store personal electronic devices during school hours unless authorized for specific purposes.

Buist Academy will require all electronic devices to be powered off and stored in student's backpacks (3rd-6th) or lockers (7th-8th) during the instructional school day. Violations of this cell phone policy will be addressed according to the CCSD Progressive Discipline Plan.
